as the intrepid Henry Hudson made his way up the river that now
bears his name, he happened upon an area of pristine beauty and
economic promise. Investigating further, Hudson - always a good
judge of character - determined that the natives were friendly and
welcoming. He immediately dropped anchor and made landfall in what
would later become Stuyvesant, New York.
although much has changed in this part of the Hudson Valley, two
things remain the same: The Town of Stuyvesant remains beautiful and
the natives are still friendly.
