SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE STUYVESANT FALLS FIRE DISTRICT
RESOLUTION of the Stuyvesant Falls Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners to appropriate a sum out of the Equipment Reserve fund to pay the cost of a 2014 pumper tanker fire apparatus not to exceed $210,000.00 subject to Permissive Referendum was made and approved at a regular monthly meeting on April 17, 2013.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 175 and 179 of the Town Law and Section 30.0 of the Local Finance Law and a Resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners, a Permissive Referendum will be held at the Stuyvesant Falls Fire House, 9 Firehouse Lane, Stuyvesant, NY on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 between the hours of 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm, at which time the qualified voters of the Stuyvesant Falls Fire District will be asked to approve or disapprove the following resolution.
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire District Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to prepare the ballot which shall be substantially in the following form: Proposition No. 1 SHALL the resolution entitled “Resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Stuyvesant Falls Fire District, Town of Stuyvesant, Columbia County, New York (the “district”), authorizing the purchase of a pumper/tanker with affiliated equipment and acquisition costs; estimating the total cost thereof at a maximum of $210,000; appropriating said amount therefor; and authorizing the financing by issuance of a serial bond/statutory installment bond up to twenty years for the maximum amount of $210,000 principal and/or by utilizing reserve funds in the maximum amount of $100,000, or from an installment purchase contract up to twenty years for all or part of the total amount in combination with the reserve funds, if any, adopted on April 17, 2013 be
approved? YES NO
All voters of the Stuyvesant Falls Fire District registered with the Columbia County Board of Elections by April 14, 2013 are eligible and encouraged to vote in this special election.
