A notice was included in this year’s Property Tax Bills that the Town will begin accepting Credit Card payments on February 1st. There have been concerns that this is the start of the penalty phase. However, this year the 1% penalty does not begin being assessed until February 2nd. Payments may be made online or in the Tax Collector’s Office. The Town of Stuyvesant will not be charged to provide this service, however please be advised that there will be a convenience fee charged to the Credit Card User — A flat fee of $1.75 will be assessed when using an Electronic Check; $3.95 will be assessed for a Visa Debit Card; and a fee of 2.45% will be assessed for Credit Cards (American Express will not be accepted). Please take note that these fees are paid directly to the Vendor and the Town only receives the monies owed for taxes.
Another Joint Workshop for Proposed Zoning Ordinance Revisions will be held on February 18th at 7pm.
A Community Movie Night, sponsored by the Town and held at the Stuyvesant Fire House, is being planned for Saturday, March 19th — Movie to be determined (but will be family friendly).
