March Updates

We hope this email find you healthy and sane with all of the virus panic and toilet paper shortages.

This is to send you some information and updates with respect to the Town’s response to the COVID-19 Virus.

Currently, the Town Hall remains open to the public. As the situation with the virus is very fluid and changing rapidly (almost by the hour), if there is a need to change our availability, it will be posted on our website and FB page.

As ordered by the NYS Office of Court Administration and the Governor’s Office, all courts will be closed for a minimum of 45 days. Judges O’Hare and VanMeter have this situation under control and can be reached by telephone if you have any questions. They can be reached at 518-758-6248 Extensions 11 and 13 respectfully.

The Planning Board meeting scheduled for Monday, March 23rd has been cancelled.

If you were in attendance at the last Town Board meeting, you saw the presentation by the Stuyvesant Fire District No. 1 Engineer regarding their proposed project and bond vote. There was a public information meeting mentioned as well. The meeting, scheduled for March 28th, and the bond vote have both been postponed until further notice.

As you know, the situation with the COVID-19 virus is changing rapidly and there is a lot of misinformation circulating. For the most recent information from NYS please use the NYS Dept of Health website. For information from Columbia County for more localized updates and information, please use the Columbia County website.

Please continue to practice healthy habits, check on your elderly neighbors, and have some patience at the grocery store — those cashiers and store employees are doing their very best in a difficult situation. We will get through this but being kind to each other will make it so much less stressful.

Stay Healthy!
