September is here! Cooler weather, leaves falling, and the buses back on the roads. Please be watchful for those red flashing lights.

The Town Board meeting will be held on Thursday, September 9th at 7pm. This will again be a hybrid meeting. Patriot Day, Saturday September 11th will commemorate 20 years. Our neighbors in Kinderhook are planning a parade and ceremony at the September 11th Memorial on State Farm Road. The parade will step off from Ichabod Crane at approximately 4:45pm. They will march up State Farm Road (which will be closed to thru traffic) to the Memorial where there will be a candlelight ceremony. Everyone is invited to attend.

Resident punch cards will be available from the Town Clerk’s Office and Highway Department beginning on Monday, September 13th. Please bring proof of physical residence. Trash Day will be held on Saturday, October 2nd 8:00am – 3:00pm at the Highway Department storage site on Sharptown Road (at the top of the hill).

Also on October 2nd, at 4:30 will be our first Community Night and Cruise In. We are inviting any interested vendors (food, drink, craft) to contact the Town Clerk’s Office to register. No fees for participating. We are also inviting anyone who has a car they would like to show off, to bring it down to the Town Hall. We will donation jars around to collect for our upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2023.

The annual Children’s Halloween Party is scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd at 1pm at the Town Hall. “Head Witch” Cathy will be looking for volunteers to help decorate, run games, bake goodies, and clean up. Watch for additional information or reach out to Cathy to volunteer. The party is open to all children from Stuyvesant and surrounding towns.
