Hello & Happy October!
This is going to be a busy month in Stuyvesant with a few fun things going on.
Today is Saturday, Oct. 2nd and it’s our annual “Fall Trash Bash” — clean up day. Free for residents with a punch card. The Town Clerk’s Office will be open 8am until 12:00 for anyone who wants to stop in for a card. Please be prepared to show proof of residency. The punch card gets you 2 trips to drop off (unless you have a loaded pickup truck with a loaded (single axle) trailer, then that’s your 2 trips).
The first ever Community Night & Cruise In will be this afternoon at 4:30 at the Town Hall. The vendors will be in the back of the building and the cars will be parked on the front lawn. It’s not too late to bring your car or set up a booth — no registration fees for either. Schodack Landing Fire Co. food truck, Pico de Gallo, Cosmic Donuts, and Mr. Ding-a-Ling will be here as well as vendors for jewelry, decorated glasses, and other crafts. The weather looks like it will cooperate so come out and enjoy!
The Annual Children’s Halloween Party returns this year on October 23rd at the Town Hall from 1pm – 3pm. The party is free and open to children from Stuyvesant and surrounding communities. There will be a costume parade and prizes awarded so start planning for your best! There will be games, crafts, treats, prizes & a pinata. We are looking for volunteers to help decorate on the 22nd, to run games, bake treats, and clean up. Cathy Knott is the person to contact at 518-758-6248 Ext. 12. This is an excellent opportuntity for those high school students who will need community service hours!
