2024 Recycling Permits are Here

The 2024 Recycling Permits are now available to be purchased in the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. Please note, the prices have increased due to increased costs incurred by the County. The new prices are: $75.00 for a Resident Permit; $50.00 for a Senior Resident Permit; and $125 for Non-County Resident Permit.

The County has asked that we share their “Recycling Protocols”. The following list are items acceptable for recycling at the Columbia County Transfer/Convenience Stations. If it is not on the list then it is considered TRASH and must be disposed of properly. All Recyclables must be clean, with no food debris:

THE LIST: Newspaper * Magazines * Cardboard boxes * Brown bags * Junk mail * Catalogs * Soft cover books Envelopes * Advertisements/Inserts * Boxboard & Paperboard – cereal boxes, pasta boxes, shoe boxes, mixed office paper * Plastic bottles #1, #2, #5 CLEAN * milk jugs CLEAN * Bleach/detergent bottles * Soda/juice bottles #1, #2, #5 * Shampoo bottles #1, #2, #5 CLEAN & EMPTY * Water bottles * Plastic containers #1, #2, #5 CLEAN & NO FOOD DEBRIS * Aluminum cans and bottles CLEAN * Tin cans CLEAN & NO FOOD DEBRIS * Glass bottles and jars.
